EFFETTO A PEDALE PER CHITARRA
Triptychon is an all-analog guitar pedal designed as a complete tone system, built around three core elements: fuzz, harmonic shaping, and amplifier drive.
Description
Triptychon is conceived as a unified tonal platform where three independent sections work both individually and together to recreate the interaction found in classic guitar signal chains. Traditionally, fuzzes, octave fuzz pedals, and treble boosters were used in conjunction with already driven amplifiers, creating the compression, sustain, and harmonic complexity associated with vintage recordings. Triptychon restores this relationship within modern setups, where clean platforms and pedal-based gain are more common.
The center section features a fully analog 4-voice fuzz engine inspired by iconic circuits, offering a wide tonal range from dynamic and responsive to saturated and aggressive textures. The right section expands harmonic content through a dual-mode design, functioning either as a treble booster with two distinct voicings or as an upper octave fuzz with varying levels of articulation and harmonic richness. The left section acts as the amplifier foundation, providing the compression, response, and tonal environment of a driven amplifier, allowing the other stages to perform naturally and cohesively.
At its core, Triptychon uses a custom six metal-can silicon transistor design engineered to reproduce the tonal characteristics and dynamic response associated with germanium circuits, while maintaining stability and consistency. The pedal also incorporates switchable anti-buffer circuits to preserve proper interaction with passive pickups in modern signal chains that include buffers, active electronics, or wireless systems.
The drive section can be flexibly assigned to either the fuzz or boost/octave footswitch, enabling efficient control within a compact setup. For expanded operation, an optional external XT footswitch (sold separately) allows the drive section to function independently, offering increased flexibility and control over the overall gain structure.
