The Vintage Custom 1958 Top-Load Telecaster: Classic and Brutal Yet Comfortably Familiar
Besides the special bridge, the Fender Custom Shop have endowed this Telecaster with a generous fistful of classic treats. The body has been sculpted from two pieces of ash sealed in a flash-coat lacquer that gives the wood ample room to breathe and mature with age, both aesthetically and sonically. To amplifier that familiar brutal twang, the 2019 Vintage Custom has been mounted with a pair of hand-wound '58 Tele single-coils and a set of tried-and-true controls. If you like the feel of a full vintage Tele neck, then you'll be more than pleasantly surprised by the 10/56, rift-sawn maple, U-profile neck. Combine this with the compound radius that graduates from 7.25-inches at the nut to 9.5-inches at the body, and you have that authentic and snug chord grip alongside smooth playability, especially when bending at the higher frets.
